Each oil-on-canvas portrait of an oyster has a thick shard of
very sharp broken glass adhered onto the fleshy tongue.
The prime relation of glass to sand also speaks of a surface irritant that perhaps suggests the evolution of a cultured pearl to covet in the extended future if indeed the art object is properly nurtured.
